NYC Gaymers presents: Gaymers for Life
An event honoring the legacy of HIV+/AIDS advocacy by centering NY’s LGBTQIA+ community.
Please join us on Saturday 12/5 from 2-8pm at The Center (208 W. 13th Street) for a day filled with informational panels, spotlighting community groups, playing games, and fierce performances. This event will be free to attend and open to all ages, but we do ask you register.
We’re also seeking to uplift local artists, performers, small businesses, and community organizations in a few ways:
Hyper Beam Stream
This slideshow is your opportunity to put yourself in front of others! Whether you are an artist, game developer, small business owner, or community group, we think you’re awesome, and we want to show you off! We’re asking the community to submit info about what you do, how to find you on socials and the web, and an image or logo that can be used to show off your stuff! We’ll combine the submissions into a slide show that we will be playing at times during the event and will be available online. We will do our best to accept all applicants, but NYC Gaymers reserves the right to deny any applicant for any reason. Please remember this is an all ages event, and as such, blatantly lewd or violent imagery may be denied. We are accepting submissions until 11/21.
Artist Gallery
In addition to our online slideshow, we’re planning an artist gallery we can display at the event itself. We ask that artists register using the same form as the Hyber Beam, and all artists will automatically be added to the Hyper Beam slideshow unless they opt out or apply after 11/21. We’re asking artists to bring physical prints of their artwork and identifying info (name and socials) we can tack onto display walls. NYC Gaymers will not be responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen artwork, and although we will be happy to return artwork to you before you leave the event, unclaimed art will be discarded.
(This is the same form as the Hyper Beam, and you only need to register once.)
Community Tables
Table space at the event will be limited, but we will try our best to offer free tabling space for as many community groups, non-profits, and organizations aligned with our mission as possible. If you’re interested in presenting with us, please email events@gaymers.nyc for more information.
Panels and Presentations
Are you an expert on something important to you? If you have a panel or presentation you’d like to present on the main stage, please email events@gaymers.nyc with your pitch, all relevant info, and any scheduling requirements to be considered.
Stay Tuned!
More information will be posted here as we finalize specific details. We’re looking forward to uplifting our local community as we near the end of the year!
Volunteers Needed!
We’re a volunteer-led organization and we could always use more hands!
